We’re a civil society group based in Pakistan with members in India, US, UK, Canada and the UAE. We believe that People-to-People diplomacy is the best approach to bring about lasting peace among India and Pakistan.
Hamari Boli Foundation is set-up as a non-profit, non-government organization with the sole objective to promote Indo-Pak peace through people-to-people collaborative initiatives. We’re of firm opinion that it is only the people of India and Pakistan that can bring about real peace to the region and for that we need to highlight, promote and celebrate our shared Desi heritage.
The prevailing culture of emphasizing irreconcilable differences between India and Pakistan has done great damage to the case for peace and has created an environment of hostility and virulent mistrust by promoting misconceptions and false stereotypes of the ‘other’ side. Starting with language, we aim to counter the propaganda with promoting conscious understanding of all that we share in common, as Desis.
Hamari Boli is a people-to-people initiative aimed at creating a common platform where people from India and Pakistan (and Desis around the world) collaborate in real-time on a shared undertaking of mutual interest and importance. The reunification of the two faces of Hindustani as Hamari Boli will produce a literary feat of lasting value and will go miles in dissolving the feeling of alienation, building strong bridges of trust among the common folk. Hamari Boli will be the strongest foundation for trust with its appeal to our immense Shared Desi Heritage. The resulting exchange among people will go a long way in correcting the misunderstandings created by decades of hate mongering. Hamari Boli will help people realize how much we share in common as Desis than differ as modern nations.
